Linguistics team

The International Linguistics Olympiad has been held every year since 2003 - when it was first initiated by Bulgaria and the very first edition took place in Borovets. Bulgarian teams have been part of the competition every year since then. Leader of the team is Alexander Velinov.

Our competitors have won 68 medals: 19 golden, 20 silver and 29 bronze ones. That takes Bulgaria to the third place of the all-time world list.

Bulgaria was the host of the 13th International Linguistics Olympiad that took place in Blgaoevgrad city from 20th to 24th June 2015.

LNSOTA supports the participation of the team in the Traditional Russian Olympiad in Linguistics and Mathematics as well.
